Cruise Day# 10.
Ibiza, located in the Mediterranean Sea, is a multifaceted destination, celebrated for its party scene, natural beauty, historical sites, and cultural diversity. It caters to a wide range of interests, making it a popular spot for tourists from all over the world.
Ibiza, the smallest of the three Balearic Islands, attracts thousands of people from all over Europe every year. Lying near its bigger sister Mallorca, Ibiza itself is an internationally leading tourist destination. Nicknamed the capital of electronic music, Ibiza has one of the best nightlife offers of Europe with several discos, bars and night clubs which have gained international reputation particularly because of the numerous intense dance music sessions and parties held during the summer months.
Ibiza has a rich history dating back to Phoenician times. Its strategic location made it a target for various cultures, including the Romans and Moors.
Geographically, Ibiza boasts sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque coves. The island is characterized by a mix of flatlands and hills, offering diverse scenery.
Culturally, Ibiza has a distinct charm with its traditional whitewashed houses and local crafts. The island has a reputation for electronic music, attracting renowned DJs and party enthusiasts.
In the past, it was famous for rebellion from hippies and nudists. Now, the finest hotels charge $4000+ per night.
The beach scene and club nightlife also attract a large LGBTQ clientele. Today is Halloween and the last big club parties of the season took place two weeks ago.
This is the only port on the 12-day itinerary, that represents a first visit for me.
Today, I took a pleasant tour of the southern part of the island where we visited Las Salinas, Sa Caleta, Es Vedra, and Cala Compte.
There were no shops on our tour so I have only my photos—no magnets, no postcards…
I feel fortunate to have visited another beautiful part of the world!#AnotherGloriousDay!
