Among all the things that could have gone wrong on my 23-day trip (to the Azores, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, and France,) none of them happened to me. Yes, I spent 23 days on a transatlantic sailing, in the Mediterranean, and in the Adriatic Sea.
I was by myself 75% of the time in 15 different ports of call, in airports six times, overnight in a hotel in Rome, and:
I didn’t suffer injuries, none of my underlying illnesses flared up, my credit cards or ATM card weren’t hacked, I didn’t lose my passport, I didn’t lose my phone, my phone functioned, and I didn’t get assaulted or robbed.
I never missed the ship departure time.
I didn’t fall and break an ankle, knee or hip.
No one yelled at me.
I didn’t have dental issues.
I had all the medication’s I needed.
I didn’t encounter toxic personalities.—-Rather, I met only wonderful fellow travelers.
My luggage always arrived on time.
I had Internet when I needed it (but mostly did not have it.) I had texting and phone call access when I needed it.
We only experienced rain on three port days— all on the seven day Adriatic sailing.
It’s the first time I booked the next cruise while already on the ship!
Of course, I finally reached #100 nations visited.
What a magnificent experience!
