15-hour Flight To India

Hi Family and Friends

It is my first morning in Delhi after a long day and night of travel. I just had some of the sumptuous breakfast buffet in our luxury hotel, The Taj Palace.

My flight 15-hour was made easier by reading some of A Fine Balance, a Pulitzer-Prize winning novel set in India in 1975; watching Indian and American films; sleeping; dining; and talking with a beautiful Indian woman seated next to me.

While at O’Hare, I enjoyed my last Angus beef burger with blue cheese-- since we will only be petting cows in India.

Most of our group met up on Chicago or Delhi airports. All our luggage arrived on time and going thru customs was surprisingly swift and hassle-free.

Many in our group have traveled with Father Leo before to Viet Nam, China, or Mexico. Marty, our Viet Nam vet, from my Viet Nam trip is here with his girlfriend, Rose. Father Leo will marry them in front of the Taj Mahal next week!

I am excited to see what unfolds during our first day in Delhi!

Namaste!
