Covid Cruise—— cancellation😟

After we disembarked the cruise ship (NCL Pearl) on Monday, more than 1000 new passengers boarded that day to take the same 11-day cruise that we took. Yesterday, (Tuesday) the cruise line sent those passengers onboard a letter indicating their cruise was being canceled because despite being 100% vaccinated, some crew members have tested positive for COVID-19, (mostly asymptomatic) and are being monitored by the medical team. All affected staff are in quarantine. The ship will return to Miami tomorrow to disembark. 

We were the first passengers the ship carried in almost 2 years and may be the last for a while. 

The crew was so happy to finally be working again. 🥺 I am praying they will be OK. 

Wonderful 11 day holiday cruise during Covid.

Third Covid Era Cruise!!

Currently on my 25th day of cruising, on my third cruise ship, with my third company, during Covid. So far, all is well! I am feasting on a variety of delicious foods, playing fun games with new friends, dancing every night, visiting six beautiful ports of call, enjoying sunrises and sunsets at sea every day, and we even transited the Panama Canal. 

Today is day 11 of an 11 day NCL Pearl Caribbean/ Panama Canal/ Mexico/Columbia cruise that included Christmas and New Year’s. We have made all six scheduled port stops, had clear sunny weather, all shore excursions took place without problems, had no restrictions in ports, karaoke was on the schedule several nights, solo traveler gatherings were on the schedule, and there were shows in the big theater each night. 

We have been living blissfully in our little bubble!

I have been very fortunate!
