Vacation photos and videos lost

Most photos and all videos from my 21-day cruise are lost forever because they were not stored in iCloud when my 512 GB phone died on day 22😟 I have 2 TB of cloud storage.

I only have 25% of my photos and none of the videos I recorded from my trip. Only photos from the first four days and day 22 in Lisbon were saved to the cloud.

Sadly, I lost some favorite photos and videos taken during the six straight sea days, when I had no internet access. I also no longer have photos I took to deliberately have records of some documents, records, rules, signage, tickets, guides, and more. I often take some photos specifically to help me remember certain things. Thankfully, I have hardcopies of important documents such as records from my trip to the medical center that I will need to send to my travel insurance company for reimbursement.

I will have to rely on my memory to relive some of the funny and beautiful moments I recorded on the video camera.

It seems all of my “notes” were saved so I have my journal entries, observations, blog post commentary, reflections and more.

The GOOD NEWS is, I posted many of my favorites on Facebook. I went to Facebook and downloaded to my phone, more than 300 photos and screenshots of actual FB posts.  I had to download these photos one by one. YAY for Facebook‼️‼️‼️

I interpret that to mean the universe only wanted me to retail a smaller precious number of photo memories.

In the old days, I would have taken no more than three rolls of 24 photos. I used to be much more discerning and disciplined about which photos I took. Nowadays, I will easily take 50 photos of the same sunset— Maybe 51.
